Background:
Lundin Mill Primary School was built in 1974. The main block is circular in shape. The six semi-open plan teaching areas all lead directly into the central hall, which is used for PE, drama, assemblies and school meals, with each pair of rooms sharing a tiled wet area and a set of toilets. The rooms are carpeted and have an outside wall mainly of glass which gives them a bright open feeling. In addition we have hutted accommodation which was added to cope with the rising roll. The semi-open plan nature of the main building encourages classes to work together and enables children to get to know other staff and pupils. The school is situated in very attractive grounds and there is an extensive grass area which is used for outdoor activities.Within our school grounds we have developed a wildlife garden and pond. This area is used by classes to study insect and plant life. We are always looking for new ways in which to develop the area further. The school aims to provide a secure, happy and stimulating environment where pupils will acquire and develop the necessary skills and knowledge to enjoy a fulfilling life.
